MATERIALS
HOWTO : MAKE
1- Cut a piece of cardboard large enough to contain the graphic of the mask
2- Apply the graphic onto the cardboard, leave space at the bottom for the base
3- Cut the unnecessary cardboard to reveal your graphic
4- Bend the base and glue the bending zone with the Gorilla glue, leave it drying
5- Apply the electrical tape all around the mask to make it tougher
6- Mask done!
HOWTO : APPLY
1- Put a tiny amount of adhesive tape on the upper face of the base, so that the mask can be temporary attached to the paint roller
2- Completely cover the lower face of the base with the duct tape
3- Attach the upper face of the base to the roller, keeping the mask facing down, fix the roller with some adhesive tape to prevent it to roll too much
4- Roll the mask on the surface you selected
5- Enjoy it!
VERSION 2.0
A new, waterproof, colorful, light and tough rubber material was chosen instead of the cheaper but weaker cardboard.
A projected image reference of the graphic was used instead of printed paper, to speed up the tracing/cut out process.
The graphics were cut out of the rubber and assembled using a combination of Loctite instant glue and a slower, but more resilient, Gorilla glue
The mask were then applied around the Williamsburg area and onto the Williamsburg bridge in Brooklyn.
